Food
Choose Organic Ingredients
I will enjoy 1 meal(s) cooked with organic ingredients each day.
Food
Whole Foods Diet
I will enjoy 1 meal(s) each day free of processed foods.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Waste
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate.
Water
Brush My Teeth Without Running Water
I will save up to 8 gallons (30 L) of water each day by turning it off while brushing my teeth.
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
hayley hargroder 4/07/2019 7:34 PMI went to kwik trip to get a few grocery items I needed. I bought about 8 items and then realized I didn't have a bag to carry any of it. The worker asked if I needed a bag, I looked up and said, "no thanks". She gave me a funny look noticing that I had a few handfuls of items that I bought, but I smiled and packed as many items into my pockets and balanced things on my arms till I got home. Although I did feel silly, and I probably looked it too. Juggling a bunch of grocery items when all I needed was a plastic bag! But when I got home, I felt really good about myself! knowing that I am helping the planet
