REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Advocate for Greener VehiclesReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Carrie Clemens 4/10/2019 8:52 AMCertainly the price and choices are becoming more and more approachable for making the switch. And gas prices are a big part of that equation. -
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:49 PMI was having difficulties seeing all the functionality when using internet explorer - once i switched to Chrome it was all better. YAY!!! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:49 PMI plan to focus on buying more of my food in bulk whenever possible and using glass storage jars at home. Packaging around my purchased goods is something I'm paying way more attention to. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Choose Two-Sided PrintingChoosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:47 PMI hope to make it a default setting on the machines and if someone wants single sided printing they need to select it. :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reuseable one with you? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to establish this a successful habit?
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:47 PMIf I don't have a bag for items I often stuff it in my purse whenever possible. If I wind up needing a bag I ask for paper and then I use the paper bag for my garbage can liner in my kitchen rather than a plastic one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Drive LessHow has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:45 PMOur Tri-Met Max system makes using mass transit so easy. I use it whenever I have to go to downtown. It also eliminates the parking nightmares! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Choose Organic IngredientsCan organic farming feed the world? Which side of the argument do you fall on? Why?

REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Carrie Clemens 4/04/2019 1:42 PMI think large commercial farming has moved the reality of our meat consumption out of our view. Not only are consumers wholly unaware of how the animals are treated - but also the number of them being raised for food or even what the process of butchering them is. It's a significant disconnect which means consumers see no consequence to their actions. As a meat eater I do everything I can to ensure there is no meat wasted when I prepare it and I've started making it a significantly smaller portion on my plate as well as eating it only a few time a week.
