REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Choose a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1.5 tons of CO2—per person. That’s a lot of carbon! What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
Lindsey Maser 4/06/2019 10:34 AMI've been meaning to look into off-setting my travel, and this was a great nudge to do it. I had a wonderful trip to DC recently, for a climate and behavior change conference (where EcoChallenge won a well-deserved award!), and was able to combine the trip with seeing close friends in Baltimore. I loved that it was so easy (and inexpensive) to take the commuter train between Baltimore and DC, and wish we had better rail options on the west coast. I love travel, but know it's incredibly carbon intensive. I'm grateful to be able to spend time with friends and colleagues in distant places, and I'm glad there's an option to contribute to projects that reduce carbon emissions.
