    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

It's good to research how the details on how your donated items will be recycled. Especially in situations with textile recycling and donation, it's good to identify the organizations near you that have both limited requirements and that keep things as local as possible. This way we can keep textile waste out of the landfill, and don't spend precious resources shipping them halfway across the world if we don't have to.

Food Try a New Way to Prep
Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I would love to learn about preserving stone fruits such as fruits this year--I think they would hold up better than this past year's harvest that are still sitting in our freezer.

    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

We can start shifting our meat-focused food culture by voting with our dollar, opting for plant based options, and eating more mindfully. There weren't this many dairy substitutes at the grocery store 10 years ago. It's also a great time to shift as Spring vegetables are popping up and it's easier to shift to eating more seasonally and locally.

    Waste Choose Two-Sided Printing
Choosing two-sided printing can be an easy adjustment on your computer settings. How can you help others make this same switch? Can it be encouraged company wide?

The default for our printer settings is two-sided and we have designated recycling bins for paper that is only printed on one-side so they can be upcycled for scratch paper notepads.
