Last summer we added solar to the house.  It is fun to watch each panel during the day to see their electric generation.

The PNW is a great place to live.  I use mother nature to cool the house off every evening during the summer by opening windows.  I carefully watch the outside temperature vs. indoor temperature to know when to close the house in the morning.

When I go on vacation I turn down the hot water heater temp, reduce the house temperature in the winter and raise it in the summer so save HVAC energy

I have washed and re-used plastic bags since the 70s.  I have saved so much waste this way.
