Laurel Masters 4/17/2019 11:34 AMI am apart of a dining plan here on campus because I live in the dorms and I have found that it makes eating a vegan meal a lot harder. Most of the vegan options are limited and do not normally look appealing and filling due to the fact that it is normally a side dish or it has been sitting out for hours because not many people choose to have it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reuseable one but it's just hard to make the switch. Think about what stands in your way of making this a habit. By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Laurel Masters 4/01/2019 11:37 AMI feel like there are so many little things that people can do daily that will eventually add up to a bigger impact than you could even imagine. It makes me feel hopeful that there are easy changes that can be made in everyone's day-to-day that will make an impact for the better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Go PaperlessReducing your paper mail can be such a freeing action to take -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?
Laurel Masters 4/01/2019 11:33 AMI feel like with technology today, paper mail is extremely unnecessary due to the fact that most US citizens have an email account that can be used to save paper. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than in other places, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Laurel Masters 4/01/2019 11:29 AMI think the reason we eat so much meat is because we have it and are able to eat it for every meal a day. I believe if everyone understood the impact the meat industry has on the environment, more people would consider eating less meat each week.
