We have a project at school where we have to generate a handbook in a foreign country and we selected to do one about trash collection. I am excited and interested to see how the possible impact of implementing something could affect the country we select.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it so difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places? How might your experience with this challenge impact your future consumption and choices?

    Keilani Marie Mesa's avatar
Keilani Marie Mesa 4/15/2019 7:00 PM
As consumers we often overlook the impact we have because we are so used to a convenience driven environment. The movement to become more conscious is definitely increasing and I believe that once business and consumers are on the same page consumption and choices will have a better outcome.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? Do you know how your compost will be used and the benefits it has on the environment?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles serve an important role in places for health and safety, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. Can you identify the barriers in making this a new habit? How can you set yourself up for success in making this a permanent change?

Keilani Marie Mesa 4/15/2019 6:58 PM
Convenience is mostly the barrier in making this a new habit but I personally try my best to use my flask, mason jars, or personal cups instead of paper/Styrofoam cups etc.
