  • Reflection Question
    Water Ditch the Lawn
What is the main water source in your region?

    Robyn Emry 5/01/2019 4:45 AM
The main water source is Lake Wylie.
  • Reflection Question
    Transportation Drive Less
How has your access to various kinds of transportation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:09 PM
The use of ride share programs while traveling makes navigation of unfamiliar areas stress free. This also has allowed me to be more willing to explore more of the cities visited.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Choose Clean/Renewable Energy
How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:07 PM
Promote our savings to friends and family
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Power Down the Computer
What are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:06 PM
Insulate the garage door, install a tankless natural gas hot water heater
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Online Energy Audit
What most interested or surprised you about your own energy footprint?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:02 PM
How little our family impact is considering the family size
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Switch to Cold Water
What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:02 PM
Invest in future energy/water reduction and family time events.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Use an Energy Meter
How can you make your home more energy efficient?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 4:00 PM
In our new home we installed NEST thermostats and LED lighting. Our windows are covered with energy saving shades that help insulate and limit cooling loss.
  • Reflection Question
    Energy Turn it off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Ryan Pennington 4/30/2019 3:58 PM
Electricity is either produced using hydro, nuclear, or NG steam combustion. The hydro power plant and nuclear facility uses the construction of one of the largest man made lakes in the US. This provides habitat for many plant and wildlife species.
  • Reflection Question
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Sharon Fulton 4/30/2019 1:40 PM
I could donate the items that I don't plan to use/wear again to charity organizations instead of leaving them in the closet to take up space.

I could also repair a couple of items that could be used if they worked correctly.

I could set up a better recycling system in my garage to sort items that go to the trash collector so they can recycle cardboard, glass, etc.
